Fiddle made by Sverre Sandvik in 1978. A fully decorated instrument with five understrings, featuring a medium orange-brown varnish and hand-painted rosemaling on the top plate, ribs, and back. The top is made from fine-grained spruce, while the back and ribs are crafted from flamed maple. Richly decorated with colorful mother-of-pearl and bone inlays on the top plate, back, fingerboard, tailpiece, and peg box. In good condition.

Five understrings. The instrument is in excellent condition with no visible cracks. New strings recently installed. Recently serviced and neck angle adjusted by fiddle maker Ottar Kåsa in Bø i Telemark.

Sverre Sandvik (1918–1993) was a respected Norwegian Hardanger fiddle maker, author, and educator. Born in Bremanger and later based in Telemark, he built around 400 fiddles during his lifetime and played a central role in preserving traditional fiddle-making techniques. He authored "Vi byggjer hardingfele", an instructional book on Hardanger fiddle construction. Sandvik taught annual fiddle-making courses at Raulandsakademiet and contributed to the broader folk music community through his craftsmanship and teaching.
