Commission Sales
Do you have a hardanger fiddle that you would like to sell? If so, we're here to help! By selling your instrument on commission with Oslo Hardanger Fiddles, you take advantage of our online platform to quickly find a buyer on the international market and sell your instrument for a satisfactory price.
Our commission rate is 15% of the total selling price* of the instrument or bow. In exchange for this, we beautifully present your instrument with high-quality media and advertise your instrument on our website and across the internet. Once we receive your instrument, you can relax: we take care of any necessary repairs, customer interactions, shipping, and handling of payments. We also insure your instrument against damage or loss when you entrust your instrument to us.
Here is how it works:
- 3 months minimum - We invest a lot of time and money into your instrument when we receive it. For this reason, your instrument and bow must stay with us for a minimum of 3 months.
- 30 day cancellation notice - After the 3 month period has passed, you can request your unsold instrument or bow back by sending a 30-day cancellation request to info@meistari.no.
- Payment for repairs - Any repairs (or new strings, bow rehairing, etc.) that were done to prepare the instrument for sale will be taken out of the final payment to you. If you request your unsold instrument back, all repairs must first be paid before the instrument is returned.
- Settlement after 15 days - Your final payment will be sent to you 15 business days after the buyer purchased their instrument.
If you are interested in selling your fine string instrument or bow on commission with us, please send the following information to info@hardangerfiddles.com:
- Photos: Please send clear front-and-back photos of the body and scroll.
- Maker and year: Any information about the maker, location or year of manufacture. Is there a maker's label inside the instrument?
- Condition: Are there any cracks or damage that we should know about? Has this instrument undergone any repairs in the past?
- Authenticity: please send photos of any certificates of authenticity, if available.
